Never Give Up

Big decisions need to be given a long span of time to be able to come up with a certain answer. But do not get me wrong even small decisions need to be given time too. We need to weigh which is heavier. The pros or cons, then after we have weighed them, then we can make a decision.

Being a high school student in Cavite National Science High School is not easy. Upon entering this school the worst enemy that you would face is stress. From all the home works and projects given by the teachers. If you have no determination, you would easily quit from all the difficulties you would encounter. But for me I took all these hardships as trials, trials that would test my meddle as a student. I knew from the first time I had entered the school my life was already planned out. I was on the right track. And now that I have reached my third year in this school, I starting to feel the excitement of going to college. Even though I still have 3 more years to go because of the K-12 Program nonetheless I am still excited. Because not only I have learned a lot of lessons from books I also learned a lot of life lessons from my classmates even my teachers which I can use upon entering college. This school has shaped me to be the person I wanted to be when I was in elementary. A person that can stand on his own feet, who can make decisions without anyone’s help. This school has given me a chance to prove myself worthy of being a scholar.

Even though we are the first batch to be taught according to the K-12 Program I still think of it as a blessing because we are given 2 more years to be a part of the school’s history as the first ever batch to be taught using the K-12 Program. Even though we have suffered at some point I know that there is always a rainbow after the rain. True enough, we just had to believe in what the program has given us and trust that Deped knows what they are doing is for the betterment of us students and for the betterment of the country.

Leave or Stay?

Anywhere around the world you’ll get a chance to bump into a kababayan. Noticeable you’ll be greeted by their friendly smile, their hospitality and willingness to help their kapwa Pinoys. And each one of them if you will ask them why are they working abroad. There will be only one answer. To seek greener pastures. If they can find greener pastures that would mean higher pays, larger salaries, and better lives for their families back in the Philippines.

Of course, all of these has its share of heartaches like: not being able to attend significant occasions for their family members and of course they miss their family they left home just to take care of a different family. Missing your children grow up is the greatest sacrifice an OFW has to partake. At times, your children needs your love, affection and understanding. In some cases, due to lack of affection from your husband or wife, they commit adultery, misguided children turn to drugs because of their broken family. If only Filipinos would earn as much as they would abroad, nobody would leave their family behind. It is such a pity that professionals from our country choose to work abroad because of the higher pay. But if our government would just offer like the ones abroad they would not have to leave their families behind and help for the improvement of a different country but our own.

Papal Visit 2015

Pope Francis' visit to the Philippines from January 15–19, 2015, is the first state and pastoral visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines. The Pope is the third pontiff to visit the country after Popes Paul VI and John Paul II. His visit marked the first visit of a pope to the Philippines in the 21st century with the last visit by a pope in the Philippines by Pope John Paul II in 1995. The pope visited Manila, plus Tacloban and Palo, Leyte, to pay a visit to the victims of the typhoon Yolanda. Pope Francis became the second pope to go beyond Manila during a papal visit to the Philippines, after Pope John Paul II who visited Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Legazpi, Bataan and Baguio alongside Manila from February 17 to 22, 1981.

His Holiness had given the chance for us Filipinos to see him face to face. The Philippines has been blessed to encounter and to meet not just 1 Pope but 3 Popes, namely: Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis. Even though I have managed to witness only one Pope visit the Philippines I can still feel the religious side of Filipinos in which is shown by the bright smiles and eager faces to see the Pope. Being religious is what the Filipinos are known for. Some would offer their lives for their beliefs of their religion just like what happened in Marcos’ reign. The nuns would chain themselves arm and arm just to protect what they believe is right. That for me is enough to show faithfulness. For me a Pope means a person who can unite religions together and govern and guide the whole Roman Catholic society into what God wants us to be.

As for the Pope’s visit, as for me I think of it as a sign of hope for Filipinos that we are still being recognized as one of the most religious countries in the world and that we should not abandon our faith. Even though the Pope was exhausted from travelling from one country to the other he forgot all that when he arrived in the Philippines. I think he was overwhelmed with all the people turned out even though it is very dark. When he had rode his Pope mobile he did not sit even for a second furlough his chair was just behind him. Because he knew that the people on the sides of the streets have waited for him for a long time, because some of them had been waiting since morning.

And when it was time for the Pope to depart you could still feel the anticipation of the people on the streets waiting to catch a glimpse of the pope’s wonderful smile. The Pope has left a great mark on the Philippines History as the Third Pope to Visit the Philippines. I hope that I would be given a chance to see the pope again here in the Philippines because this was my first time seeing my fellowmen come together as one, join hand in hand to see the Pope.

9 Circles of CavSci

Vestibule: The late comers and the violators, at the gates

Apart from the fact that they have arrived late at the said time also the ones who have not followed the regulation haircut and the ones that have not followed the given uniform. They are forced to wait beside the very gates of the school, dragging their heavy bags until they are given the chance to repent for the mistakes that they have committed. But they have one thing they must accomplish, they must re do the morning exercises while under the light of the scorching sun in the middle of the court. After they have accomplished their task they are sent to their respective circles.

1st circle: The Newcomers, First year & Second year building

These are the ones who have passed the exams to enter this school. Here their trials start, all their hardships, but first they must abandon all hope of a day without home works or any projects. They will be prepared to enter the 2nd circle. Here they must open their minds to new ideas, ideas which will have their determination waver. You must not oppose any teacher, you must do whatever they say. No matter how horrid these commands be, you must follow them blindly. If some give up and quit because they cannot handle the stress. Once they leave the gates of the school, they will never be able to come back.

2nd Circle: The Easy-going, First year & Second year building

Here lies the ones that have succeeded and descended to a deeper part of the school. Where no punishments are given but never ending projects are experienced, one after the other. But this part of the school is known for the teacher Con Tomacious. Where you must be open to whatever he says. In this part of the school you must abandon all innocence and be open-minded to what the school has to offer to you.

3rd Circle: The Damned Shades, Third year building
Here the students’ will-power and determination will be put to the test. Here, the home works and projects given in the first circle fall petty to the ones given here. Here the projects are given a long period of time but you must put your utmost effort in order to pass the standards. Aside from that, students who have descended to this circle are required to pass a research title and proposal in which no other student in the school has ever done before. Or else, they won’t have the chance to go deeper to the 4th circle of the school.

4th Circle: The Freed, Fourth year building

They are the ones who have finished their research and had left a mark on the school. They are the ones who are at the last step to getting out of inferno. They just have to pass the exams and wait for the end of the school year and they are finally set free.

5th Circle: The Field of nightmares

This is where a lot of students gather whenever they are allowed to get out of their respective circles. The only thing why it was called the field of nightmares because when the other shades are all at the field they make complete and utter chaos which for the guardians are nightmares for them. After the time has passed they go back to their respected circles and continue what they are tasked to do.

6th Circle: The Hell R C

This is where the collection of researches are heavily guarded and not allowed by any other shade to be borrowed other than the author. Shades are forced to clean the whole room spotless for them to descend to a lower circle. This room is guarded by Car Gullis which has his own heater to increase the temperature of the room, and to add suffering to the shades cleaning.

7th Circle: The Burning Court

Here is where you can find the shades found in vestibule suffering in the scorching heat. Paying their debts for coming to school late.

8th Circle: Guidance for the Doomed

Here the shades which have committed grave sins in which require grave punishments are sent out. Here is where they are exiled from the school never to comeback. They must leave all their memories and everything they have experienced. They must stay while the shades must be exiled forever.

9th Circle: The Deathfire’s Grasp, The Office

This is the deepest part of the school. Where you can find the shades that are ruling over this hellish school. Here is where the once doomed go and then finally exiled. And here is where the shades in the 4th circle must have the mark of approval of their research to finally be released from the chains that they were tied to.

Romeo X Juliet

It was then that Juliet was in her grave, fast asleep. She had drank the potion that Friar Lawrence had given her. At the same time Romeo was looking at the sky wondering wistfully what had happened to her lovely wife. Then a crow appeared. A crow for them, was a sign of death. Romeo had thought that it was her fine Juliet whom death had chosen.  Romeo rushed to Verona and went straight to Juliet’s room. Then he saw the Capulet family. Romeo told everything that had happened to them from how they met to their wedding. He told the family that Friar Lawrence had blessed them. Enraged with what happened Lord Capulet dragged Romeo to the Friar. Friar told the family that he had blessed their wedding because he had seen the loyalty and faith in each other’s eyes that they would go out of their way just to be married, so they did. Then the Friar told them that before the marriage of Paris and Juliet she went to him for advice. Then, he told that Juliet would rather die than to marry Paris because he has been wed to another man. So the Friar gave Juliet the potion that would let her sleep for the time of the wedding. After Capulet had heard the whole story, his thoughts were scrambled. He thought that the Montague house was a vile and cruel family but after what their son had told them his thoughts and ideas about the family changed. He ordered Romeo to call Lord and Lady Montague and meet with Lord and Lady Capulet at Juliet’s grave. Then everyone had gathered, Romeo knelt down on the grave and dug Juliet up. Then, he gave Juliet a kiss in front of the two families. After the kiss, Juliet woke up just in time. The Capulet house rejoiced seeing their one and only daughter wake up from a death-like sleep. Still confused with what was happening Lord Montague asked Lord Capulet what was happening. Then, Lord Capulet told what he had heard from Romeo and the Friar. With what had Lord Montague had heard his thoughts also changed. The two houses decided to hold a lavishing wedding ceremony to retake their vows and say it in front of the two families. After the ceremony the house where the two families were found was torn down to make a single house where the two families had become one and Romeo and Juliet had been the Lord and Lady of Verona.

Little Things

While I was walking alone in the park i saw a crowd of people shocked at who they saw....It was our national hero Jose Rizal.....After the crowd settled Rizal sat down and I wanted to talk to him so I sat beside him.....

Me: Uhm....Excuse me sir may I talk to you?
Rizal: It's fine....I have time.
Me: So.... you are our national hero, how does it feel?
Rizal: I was surprised that I was the national hero...I thought my friend Andres would be the national hero because he was the first president of the Philippines after all.
Me: Well you are the national hero....Congrats...
Rizal: Thank you very much.
Me: But.....
Me: If you were not our national hero, where would you be?
Rizal: Uhm... I think I would be somewhere where I could be able to think by myself and create more books to be published.
Me: Oh....so you would be a writer?
Rizal: Yes, yes
Me: If you would be writing a book, what would you want to be it about?
Rizal: I would like to make a book about the generation of yours...
Me: My generation?! *surprised*
Rizal: Yes your generation....The generation where alternative rock bands start to form and where having a computer is a must for every child.
Me: *guilty* oh yes....I too have fallen victim to this new generation....
Me: Anyway thank you very much... I still have somewhere to be.... I have to go.
Rizal: Okay, Goodbye.
Me: I want to read that book yours Rizal...Bye
Rizal: Sure sure, Bye
